The Truth Handled – – Nuremberg (2025, USA/Hungary, Color, 148 min) – – 16 November 2025

Recommended. In this day and age, ANY movie that reinforces the evil of Nazism needs to be seen. That said, Nuremberg fills the bill but not much more. The script (James Vanderbilt, Zodiac) is uneven in plot and plausibility, and Vanderbilt’s direction does not improve upon it. A distinct pleasure is Russell Crowe’s (Gladiator) impression of Hermann Göring. One wishes the entire movie had focused on him. Michael Shannon’s (Take Shelter) turn as chief American prosecutor Robert H. Jackson also pleases. Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) plays a conflicted psychiatrist only slightly less quirky than Freddie Mercury. He’s just distracting. Most of the other actors offer little to no support, although newcomer Leo Woodall (The White Lotus) shows talent. The title promises courtroom fireworks. But imagine if in the middle of Tom Cruise’s (A Few Good Men) cross-examination of Nicholson, he’d turned his inquisition over to Kevin Pollack. What just happened?
